Who is New Life World Aid?
There are 4.8 billion people in the world’s
developing countries. Three-fifths lack basic sanitation, almost
a third lack access to clean water, and a quarter don’t have adequate
housing. Right now more than 5 million people are homeless as
a result of a natural disaster. Turn on any television channel.
Read any newspaper. War. Flood. Famine. Everyday we awake to a
crisis somewhere in the world. Who will help the family forced
from their home? The starving child squatting in the street? The
mother sifting through the rubble? So many needs. So much pain.
How can one person —even one agency— possibly make
a difference?
New Life World Aid, (NLWA), exists to demonstrate
the love of God - through word and deed - to hurting and needy
people around the world through relief and development projects.
Whatever the need, be it food, shelter, medical supplies or development
assistance, NLWA innovatively links individuals and groups worldwide,
sourcing critical commodities and mobilizing people for an effective
response.
Operation
Carelift, a division of NLWA, reaches out to people in former
Soviet Republics. For two weeks each winter and again during the
summer, hundreds of Carelift volunteers help deliver humanitarian
aid to families and children in orphanages. They also conduct Sunday
School programs and outreaches, pastors training, literature distribution,
medical and dental camps and hygiene training.
Crossroads,
a division of NLWA, exists to support, train and resource national movements and partnering organizations with strategies to address felt or societal needs [such as HIV/AIDs, violence] with educational and spiritual solutions and by focusing on the development of values and character.
...three are stronger than one.
New Life World Aid strives to eliminate the duplication of services
amongst aid organizations by cooperating and working together with
like-minded agencies. We believe in the unity of strengths and resources
of each partnering agency into a single, efficient, global effort.

GAiN Canada,
our implementation partner, helps to mobilize and facilitate resources
for our projects around the world.
Our
partners in Europe, GAiN
Germany, provide acquisition and transportation of humanitarian
aid supplies to countries throughout Europe and parts of Asia and
Africa.
New Life World Aid is willing to go where it needs to go and do
whatever it takes to bring relief and hope to the suffering. New
Life World Aid's key areas of focus include the following:
Reaching leaders: Merely delivering
aid is not always enough. Often the ground must be prepared first
by forming relationships with government leaders and other key decision-makers
to foster an atmosphere of openness and trust before aid or development
work can begin.
Benin
— After meeting with the First Lady of Benin an agreement
was made to work with GAiN
Canada and Campus pour Christ, Benin to drill water wells
which will provide clean drinking water, which in turn improves
the quality of life.
Emergency Disaster Response:
Turn on any television channel. Read any newspaper. It seems like
every day we awake to a new crisis some where in the world. New
Life World Aid is always ready to mobilize resources when disaster
strikes.
Iraq
– New Life World Aid is currently involved in delivering
emergency “Boxes of Blessing” containing food items such as
rice, beans, canned, dried and other non-perishable food items
in response to the war in Iraq. Four truckloads of food and
clothing have already been delivered to Northern and Central
Iraq . This is an ongoing project.
Liberia
– Years of civil war in Liberia have created hundreds
of thousands of displaced people and refugees. New Life
World Aid is currently working with local churches in Liberia
to provide hot meals to needy people. Over 140,000 hot meals
were served in phase I of this project between September and
October 2003.
Ongoing Disaster relief: Immediate
response to disaster while important is not the whole story. When
people are displaced from their homes through conflicts or natural
disasters they need ongoing support as they work to rebuild their
lives. New Life World Aid strives to ensure that people continue
to receive aid long after the crisis is over.
Development Aid: Long-term economic
development is the key to building stable, sustainable societies
that are better able to withstand the shocks of war and strife.
One of New Life World Aid's key mandates is to share the technology
of developed nations with people from developing countries.
Africa
and Asia – “Water for Life Initiative”,
a joint project between New Life World Aid and GAiN
Canada is providing fresh water wells to communities throughout
Asia and Africa.
Global Alliance (GA)
New Life World Aid is a founding member of the Global Alliance.
The Global Alliance is a network of CCCI partners committed to relief
and development. Each partner has the goal of presenting the love
of God in a tangible way through relief and development work, as
well as facilitating the presentation of the message of God’s
love and forgiveness. The primary conduit for these efforts is CCCI
national offices.
